Opening: Esben Weile Kjær HARDCORE FREEDOM
About
Experience the up-and-coming young artist Esben Weile Kjær in live performance when Copenhagen Contemporary opens its doors to the exhibition HARDCORE FREEDOM on 22 October.
Opening performance
The opening consists of a two-hour live performance with Esben Weile Kjær and ten performers. Join us on October 22 at 18.30 – 20.30. The event is without registration, and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
With architectural grips, electronic beats, light shows and mirrors, Weile Kjær presents a collective work that explores the relationship between youth, rebellion, celebration, cultural consumption and the constructed feeling of freedom that young people subscribe to. Experience the performance that offers a mix of dance styles from the nightclub guest’s uncontrolled dance over the pole dancer’s sexualized movements to the ballet dancer’s body discipline.
NOTE: Risk of queuing
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we can only admit a limited number of people at a time. Therefore, we can unfortunately not guarantee that everyone will get to experience the performance on the opening night. Therefore, there is free access to CC’s five other exhibitions from kl. 18.30-21.00.
HARDCORE FREEDOM is presented in a special partnership with GL STRAND, which in the period from August to October this year, showed POWER PLAY by the same artist.
