COPENHAGEN CONTEMPORARY and the Danish design studio NIKO JUNE open the autumn pop-up shop in CC’s foyer.

Eros Torso, a series of vases designed by artists Oliver Sundqvist and Frederik Nystrup-Larsen, has become a signature design for the studio’s practice. Each vase is individually made by hand at the NIKO JUNE workshop in Copenhagen. Made from the upcycled plastic using recovered beer kegs, every vase in the series has a distinctive character with no two being the same. The process is a reflection of the studio’s production practices being rooted in the industrial and intentional — using existing materials and reinterpreting both form and function.

In collaboration with CC, NIKO JUNE invites guests to join in witnessing the creation process of Eros Torso. On select days it will be possible to view when vases are made, giving guests a first hand experience in the studio’s craft.

NIKO JUNE is one of a large number of collaboration partners who will help expand and challenge the idea of the traditional gift shop. In addition to the Eros Torso vases, more products from the studio’s collection will also be available in the shop.
