Farshad Farzankia: Public Weeding at CC
About
Together with Golden Days, CC is one of the 10 cultural institutions celebrating love and hosting a mass wedding, where 100 enamored individuals vow to love each other in both good times and bad.
In the name of love, we expand the spectrum by adding the cultural marriage ceremony to the religious and civil ceremonies. With the aim of offering a beautiful space that can rival the church and a religiously neutral ceremony that can surpass the civil one, we are marrying 5 couples in the spirit of culture.
Crash the public wedding as artist and master of ceremonies Farshad Farzankia inspires us all to wish that it were us getting married—with a ritual that is sure to broaden our understanding of how we form the matrimonial bond.

Marie Laurberg, Director of Copenhagen Contemporary, states:
“In art, we encounter major life themes such as beauty and pain, conflict and hope. The art space is one of the places where we physically gather to discuss and explore what holds value for us as human beings. Therefore, the art space can serve as an alternative to the church, where we can beautifully and meaningfully celebrate love and turn the wedding ritual into a celebration for the people.”
Farshad Farzankia, with numerous solo and group exhibitions behind him, has earned significant recognition both internationally and in Denmark.
Jytte Vikkelsøe is Denmark’s love doctor and is perhaps best known from DR’s Hjerteflimmer for voksne alongside Sara Bro. She is also the author of the book Derfor forelsker du dig aldrig i den forkerte and is a highly respected psychotherapist.
Halvcirkel is a Danish string trio founded in Copenhagen in 2015, consisting of violist Mika Persdotter, violinist Bettina Marie Ezaki and cellist Nicole Hogstrand. At this special event they’ll perform as a two piece with violinist Bettina Marie and Cellist Nicole Hogstrand.
