Exhibition Opening Party: Hannah Toticki

:
Thu. 12. Oct. 2023 17:30 - 21:00

Join us for the opening of Hannah Toticki’s exhibition Storage of the Gods on October 12th, 2023

We are excited to welcome you to the opening of Hannah Toticki’s Storage of the Gods, an exhibition examining the absence of religious traditions and rituals in our lives.

Storage of the Gods is about religion and faith. With humour, imagination and earnestness, the exhibition investigates what it’s like to live in an age without a shared sacred dimension greater than ourselves.

For the exhibition opening on Thursday, 12 October, we have curated a special program featuring a unique and intimate conversation between the artist and science journalist Lone Frank.

If you’re hungry for more, you can reserve a table in upcoming Calma’s pop-up restaurant at CC (learn more & book a table here) or buy a drink at our café, Connie Connie, where the party will continue until 21:00.

About the exhibition:

Hannah Toticki – the big questions in life are left to the individual

Storage of the Gods is an exhibition about religion and faith. With humour, imagination and earnestness, it examines what it’s like to live in an age without a shared sacred dimension greater than ourselves. With her exhibition, Hannah Toticki sparks a dialogue about postmodern humanity’s yearning for the divine, a sacred element to give meaning to life.

With religion playing a diminishing role in society, life’s big questions are left to the individual. But in times of crisis and global challenges, people find it difficult to navigate an unpredictable and unmanageable world. Our times are characterised by a pronounced rise in stress, anxiety and psychological disorders, notably among the young.

As part of the exhibition, Toticki will involve groups of young people and seniors in workshops with the aim of discovering whether we need religious rituals or norms in our lives.
