Hear unique behind-the-scenes stories from the art world as the curator behind the exhibition – senior curator Aukje Lepoutre Ravn – talks about the collaboration with the artists and reveals some of the many considerations that went into the creation of the exhibition. The tour will be in Danish.

With their visually stunning and thought-provoking works, Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme create mediated experiences of hope and community, conflict and war, in which new aesthetic and political possibilities can emerge.
You will be guided through the exhibition and introduced to the artists’ practice, which they call “resistance poetry” – a resistance that is at once universal and deeply rooted in the artists’ personal backgrounds as US-based Palestinians.

As something very special this evening, Helle Malmvig is joining us as a guest. Helle Malmvig’s research focuses on International Politics in the Middle East. She is particularly interested in security politics, including aesthetic and popular cultural expressions and practices of war, ethnic and sectarian identity politics, visual and cultural forms of counter-power in the Arab world.

The exhibition, poetically titled The song is the call, and the land is calling, is the second in a three-year program collaboration between CC and the Glyptotek that focuses on the ancient cultural heritage of the Middle East and its significance today.
