CC Collab: Sing Teahouse opening reception
About
This autumn, Sing Tehus will be the newest collaboration in the CC foyer and shop.
Since founding Sing Tehus in 2006, Mette Marie Kjær has been dedicated to sourcing tea from growers who prioritize quality and sustainability. Her passion for the artistic elements of Asian tea culture, including the Japanese tea ceremony, has opened the door to a vast and fascinating world of tea.
Sing Tehus Collab is in CC Shop from 18.09.2024 to 27.10.2024.
Sing Tehus is one of many partners helping to expand and challenge perspectives on consumption, design, and art—while also offering visitors a chance to take home a unique piece of the CC experience.
At the opening reception, in collaboration with Sing Tehus, you’ll be invited to explore the enchanting and mystical world of tea at CC.
Experience a remarkable ceramics exhibition by Hans Vangsø and Anne Fløche, and step inside an authentic, modern Japanese teahouse. This teahouse, designed specifically for this exhibition by architect Alex Lee Hummel and built by architects Ken and Akiko of Douglas from Dinesen, offers an opportunity to participate in tea ceremonies and tastings.
During the final week of the collaboration, CC will host an exclusive visit from Japanese ceramist Hanako Miwa, who, along with architects Alex H. Lee and Rikitoshi Yamakawa, has created another transportable teahouse for the occasion.
Sing Tehus will be serving tea from the teahouse, along with refreshing samples of hot and cold teas at the opening.
From 6:00 to 8:00 PM, tea cocktails featuring sake will be available.
The evening will be set to the sounds of Urmur, who will play a blend of Asian melodies and Japanese jazz.
