Copenhagen Contemporary

An egg-straordinary Easter holiday at CC

Bring the whole family to Copenhagen Contemporary this Easter, where we invite you to a week filled with creative play, Easter festivities and art experiences for kids and adults alike.

Exhibition opening of Earth | Tree
On 28 March, join us for the opening of CCreate: Kengo Kuma/KKAA Earth | Tree. Hall 4 has been transformed into a poetic architectural landscape, where you can experience architecture through body and senses. The exhibition is rooted in Kengo Kuma’s philosophy of “gentle architecture” – an architecture that emerges in dialogue with nature, place and people.

From 11:00 – 12:30 there will also be free admission to CC, and at 13:00 you can enjoy an intimate live concert in the exhibition with Dawda Jobarteh.

In the exhibition you will also find our new workshop zone, where you can shape landscapes in sand, build with Tsumiki – the Japanese wooden blocks that Kengo Kuma designed for play, inspired by his own childhood – and experiment with Danish-made wooden blocks and miniature versions of brick.

Workshop all week
In our open workshop, children and adults can dive into the best Easter activities: make papier-mâché eggs and paint them in every colour, grow cress in fun planting boxes, and make snowdrop letters for someone you want to surprise. There is room for both small artists and big ideas. The workshop is open on all opening days from 11:00 – 15:30.

Egg hunt in the exhibitions
Our hosts have hidden eggs throughout the exhibitions – find them all and finish the hunt by making a “gækkebrev” with your name and address, which you leave at CC in the workshop before 15:30. Everyone who finds all the eggs receives a small prize – and is automatically entered into a draw for a Child+1 membership.

Art talks for kids
On all opening days, join us for short, lively talks about the works in our exhibitions – aimed at children and curious families. At 11.30, 12.30 and 13.30 – approx. 10 minutes each. (A perfect pit stop between play, workshop and egg hunt.)

Petting Zoo
On all opening days, you can try holding a real soft robot from the work After Care by Mikkel Bojesen & Rhoda Ting – part of the exhibition Soft Robots.

Extra Easter benefits
– 20% discount on drinks at Darcy (you will receive a voucher when you pay for admission)

Easter at CC is filled with imagination, community and art that can be touched, drawn, talked about and played with. We look forward to seeing you.
