Performance

The performance is part of CC10 – a three-day festival of performance, talks, and concerts at Copenhagen Contemporary, taking place from 23–25 January. The festival brings together artists, performers, and musicians in an intensive programme where performance unfolds across a wide range of forms and formats.

Over the course of all three days, audiences can experience a rich and varied programme of performances, talks, and concerts that activate the entire space of CC and create encounters between body, sound, movement, and storytelling.

As part of CC10, Copenhagen Contemporary celebrates ten years of performance, experimentation, and artistic courage with o Monster A.S.I.C.S. – a poetic performance-installation about belonging, transformation, and the spaces we call home.

Inside a small flower shop lives a creature – a greenish monster who has made this place its home, its life, and its cage. Surrounded by flowers that resist stereotypes, the monster tends to bouquets for a neighbourhood in change, offering moments of care and refuge.

But beneath the familiar routines, a longing grows. Through performance and installation, the monster dares to step beyond the shop, crossing the threshold between safety and exposure. The flower shop transforms – no longer a cage, but a beacon of openness and acceptance.

o Monster A.S.I.C.S. reminds us that home, life, and cage do not have to mean the same thing – and that beauty often emerges when we dare to move outside what we know.
