Summer at Copenhagen Contemporary is full of play, conversation, and creative experiments. Here, there’s room to ask questions, wonder, and explore the art – at any age. Our exhibition hosts are present throughout the halls and always up for a chat about the art, including with our youngest guests.
BørneCCirklen – a creative encounter with art
Every day throughout July at 12:45, we roll out our big, round rug in a new spot in the exhibition halls. Here, an art host invites you to join creative activities inspired by the art on view.
BørneCCirklen is a flexible format where you take part on your own terms. Activities last 20–30 minutes, but you’re welcome to stay for as short or as long as you like. The content changes regularly, so there are always new materials, forms of expression, and methods to explore.
No sign-up needed – just show up, and ask our art hosts on the day where to find the rug.
Open workshop on weekends
On weekends, our workshop is open and free for all visitors. Kids, teens, and adults can dive into artistic activities and explore materials and themes from the current exhibitions. This summer, we’re making homemade string telephones inspired by Camille Henrot’s exhibition Paper Planes. Our workshop facilitators are there to help and guide you along the way.
Practical info for families
In Hall 4, you’ll find an area where you can enjoy your own food and drinks. In our café, you can buy food, coffee, or something cold to drink.
- Prams and strollers: You’re always welcome to bring a pram or stroller through the exhibitions – just be mindful of the art and other guests.
- Changing tables: Restrooms with changing tables are located on the ground floor and the 2nd floor.
- Cloakroom: Feel free to leave your things in our cloakroom – larger bags and jackets are not allowed in the exhibitions. Free lockers are located on the ground floor by the café.
