Engagement with Filip Vest: Silent Reading Party

About

Filip Vest invites authors Shëkufe Tadayoni Heiberg, Sabitha Söderholm, and Sidsel Ana Welden for a conversation before we completely unwind and enter silent mode to read together in Marta Minujín’s exhibition “Intensify Life.”

It will be an evening exploring alternative ways of connecting to nature and each other through literature, discussing magical realism, grief work, inventing new languages, and using plants as a starting point to discuss gender, colonialism, and the climate crisis.

Nice to know:

The evening takes place within the artwork “Intensify Life” – an entire room covered with mattresses – an installation created by Argentine pop artist Marta Minujín in the 1970s, originally used for performances and poetry readings and now reconstructed as part of Minujín’s solo exhibition at CC.

We’ll begin with a collective conversation and readings, concluding with mingling at the bar and silent reading in the mattress room, where attendees can lie down and read their own or the authors’ books.

Filip Vest is a prominent new voice in the Danish art scene, exploring queer love, gender, and identity through performances, installations, films, and texts, examining how both small and significant crises in our lives are interconnected.
