CC CINEMA + DEBATE with Kaspar Colling Nielsen and curator Aukje Lepoutre Ravn

About

Two billion years into the future, humanity is on the brink of extinction. All that remains are surreal monuments and brutalist buildings. What do these abandoned structures reveal about human civilizations and cultural heritage?

Join us for a special evening at CC, where we will screen the (insanely) beautiful and unique film ‘Last and First Men’ by the iconic Icelandic composer and filmmaker Jóhann Jóhannsson. Guided by Jóhannsson’s ethereal music, the film combines stunning apocalyptic and cosmic 16mm black-and-white footage of Yugoslav architecture with a narrator from the future (Tilda Swinton) who poetically reflects on the end of eras.

The film will be shown in Abbas Akhavan’s exhibition ‘curtain call,’ contributing to the evening’s unique atmosphere.

Author Kasper Colling Nielsen will participate in the discussion about the film after the screening
