Ghost Flower SOLD OUT

About

Cecilia Fiona, Sophie Søs Meyer and Athelas

A performative total installation about the biodiversity crisis, flower spirits, occult rituals and the hope of resurrection.
Over Easter, CC presents a new cross-aesthetic exhibition and performance project, Ghost Flower Ritual, created by Danish visual artist Cecilia Fiona in collaboration with composer Sophie Meyer and the classical music ensemble Athelas. The project combines painting, sculpture, costumes, music and dance and comes to life in CC’s Hall 6 as one large living total installation through a series of live concert performances.

Ghost Flower Ritual is based on an alchemical myth about a scientist who burns a flower, only to have it sprout again from his own ashes. For the work, Cecilia Fiona has created a series of sculptures and costumes that will be activated by musicians and performers during four performance days in April.

Meet at least 30 minutes before the performance. You must both check in at the ticket counter and go through the entire building to reach Hall 6, where the performance is held.
Once the performance starts, the doors will be closed and no one will be allowed in. If you are late, you will not be admitted, out of respect for the performance.
Please check the website for the time you booked your ticket, as the ticket itself shows the wrong time (our provider apologizes).
The performance lasts 45 minutes.
We recommend that you take the time to experience the rest of the art at Copenhagen Contemporary either before or after the performance.
