Performance
Trigger warning: This performance contains references to abuse, which some audiences may find distressing.
The performance is part of CC10 – a three-day festival of performance, talks, and concerts at Copenhagen Contemporary, taking place from 23–25 January. The festival brings together artists, performers, and musicians in an intensive programme where performance unfolds across a wide range of forms and formats.
Over the course of all three days, audiences can experience a rich and varied programme of performances, talks, and concerts that activate the entire space of CC and create encounters between body, sound, movement, and storytelling.
At CC10 we present The Touch by artist Lina Hashim – a performance lecture exploring the boundaries of touch as both physical action and memory. The work begins from a personal experience of assault and asks how the body remembers what language alone cannot hold.
The format is the lecture – live, bodily, and analytical at once. The audience is guided through a gradual shift from reflection to sensation, where words and the body together create a form of knowledge.
The Touch revolves around intimacy, power, the gaze, and representation; around hesitation, closeness, and the potential of contact. A quiet and intense performance lecture, where attention and presence are central – and where the body is both speaker and subject.
