Cocktails & curator: ABBAS AKHAVAN

About

Join us for a special afternoon in the company of Canadian-Iranian artist Abbas Akhavan, as we invite you to conversation and drinks in his current exhibition curtain call.

Abbas Akhavan will in conversation with senior curator Aukje Lepoutre Ravn share their thoughts on the creation of the exhibition and its topics, intertwining questions of contrasting materiality, migrating cultural heritage, and collective imagination. The conversation will be followed by drinks and mingling.

The work of Akhavan ranges from site-specific ephemeral installations to drawing, video, sculpture, and performance. The direction of his research is influenced by the specificity of the sites where he works: the architectures that house them, the economies that surround them, and the people that frequent them. The exhibition curtain call is Akhavans first in the Nordic region, and part of a three-year collaborative between CC and the Glyptotek.

The event will take place directly in the exhibition in front of the Akhavan’s majestic work variations on a folly and offer a unique opportunity to engage directly with the artist.

The conversation will be held in English.
