Cocktails & Curator: Basel Abbas & Ruanne Abou-Rahme

About

Join us for an exclusive, last chance to experience a guided tour of The song is the call, and the land is calling before the exhibition closes at the end of the year.

Led by senior curator Aukje Lepoutre Ravn, you’ll uncover behind-the-scenes insights into the creation of this powerful exhibition by the acclaimed Palestinian artist duo Basel Abbas & Ruanne Abou-Rahme. Explore their visually striking and thought-provoking works, rooted in Palestinian history and life, which they describe as “resistance poetry.” These works imagine new aesthetic and political possibilities through themes of hope, community, conflict, and occupation.

Adding depth to the evening, senior researcher Helle Malmvig from the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) will join the discussion. An expert in Middle Eastern politics, Malmvig explores cultural counter-power and aesthetic expressions in the Arab world, offering valuable perspectives on the artists’ work.

The evening includes an exclusive guided tour of the exhibition, access to all exhibitions and a drink in our café Connie Connie.

This exhibition is the second in a three-year collaboration between CC and Glyptoteket, exploring the enduring impact of the Middle East’s ancient cultural heritage.
